Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnosis
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness.
What does hypnosis feel like?
There is no specific hypnotized feeling...everyone is different. Most people
experience a very relaxed, pleasant state of mind. For some of my clients, it's
the most relaxed they have felt for years.
Can I be made to do something against my will?
No. You will not do anything that is against your own will. You are always in
complete control.
Will I be asleep during hypnosis?
No. Contrary to popular belief, you will not be asleep; you will be aware of what I
am saying and will find it very relaxing. The hypnotized individual is always
aware of what is occurring.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Yes, although certain people respond better to hypnotic suggestion. Each
person is an individual, and each person can go to different levels of hypnosis.
For hypnotherapy a deep state is not always necessary, a light state is almost
always sufficient to proceed.
Is hypnosis dangerous?
Hypnosis is a very safe and relaxing natural state of mind.
What is the process of hypnosis? How will you do it?
I will ask you to make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and relax. I will then
guide you into, and afterwards, out of a hypnotic state by the tone of my voice
using carefully constructed language.
How many sessions will I need to schedule?
The average client is seen from 1-2 sessions. Hypnosis is not a long process;
Results are often achieved in just one session.
